Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a "massive" and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the United States has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their air space.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Iran's Declared Retaliation
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," the statement continued.
It said wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
